Wike Approves Promotion of 3,592 FCT Civil Servants After 2025 Exercise

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful completion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

The development was disclosed by the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, who confirmed that the promotion process had been concluded.

Ezeh explained that the promotion examinations for senior officers were conducted between July 1 and July 3, while junior staff participated in their examinations on July 10.

According to him, the approval by the FCT Minister reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that civil servants receive career advancement opportunities as and when due.

He also revealed that Wike has directed the commission to commence preparations for the 2026 promotion exercise immediately, aimed at preventing unnecessary delays in promoting eligible workers.

“Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due,” Ezeh said.

He added that the decision was designed to ensure that workers also benefit from the ongoing transformation and infrastructure development projects taking place across the Federal Capital Territory.

The commission chairman noted that improving the welfare and career progression of civil servants remained an important part of the administration’s agenda, alongside the delivery of major development projects in Abuja.

Ezeh commended FCT workers for maintaining peace, discipline, and professionalism throughout the 2025 promotion exercise.

He urged staff members who would participate in the 2026 promotion exercise to continue demonstrating the same level of commitment and good conduct.

The FCT Civil Service Commission chairman expressed optimism that the timely promotion of deserving workers would boost productivity, motivation, and efficiency within the FCT administration.
